B.A. MUSIC DEGREE COURSE – SEMESTER

Regulations
I. Eligibility for Admission to the Course :
A candidate who has
- Passed the Higher Secondary (+2) Examination of the Government of Tamilnadu (or)
- Passed PUC / INTER under 11+1 pattern of Education (or)
- Passed Three years Diploma after passed 10th Std ,
Alone are eligible.
II. Age Limit :
Maximim age limit is 23 years
III. Duration :
Three years consisting of Six semesters
IV. Passing Minimum :
A Candidate who secures not less than 30 marks in the External Examination of Theory papers and not less than 24 marks in the External Examination of Practical Papers and 40% of marks of both internal and External examination put together shall be declared to have passed the degree.
V. Requirement of Attendance :
A student has to secure 75% of attendance to be eligible to appear for the Examinations. Condonation may be granted for shortage of attendance up to 65%, A request for the Condonation duly endorsed by the Head of the Department concerned, along with the supported documents and on payment of the fee prescribed for the same should be paid. Exemption will not be granted under any circumstances for any student whose attendance falls below 65%. He/ She will have to register again for the course and put it in the required attendance for appearing for that paper.
M.A. MUSIC DEGREE COURSE – SEMESTER

Regulations
I. Eligibility for Admission to the Course:
A candidate who has
- Passed in first or second class , the Degree of Bachelor of Arts (Performing Arts / Music) of this University or any other University recognized by the Syndicate as equivalent is eligible for admission to the course.
- Any Degree with one of the Qualifications listed below :
- A Certificate from an eminent Guru for having undergone training under him / her for atleast three years in the respective field.
- Graded Artist of All India Radio
- Certificate / Diploma in Music
- Pattern of Education : Should have undergone the Graduate Degree in the Pattern 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 totalling 15 years of Education.
II. Duration :
Two years consisting of Four semesters.
III. Passing Minimum :
A Candidate who secures not less than 37.5 marks in the External Examination of Theory papers and not less than 30 marks in the External Examination of Practical Papers and 50% of marks of both internal and External examination put together shall be declared to have passed the degree.
